Catherine Thomson

Catherine is the Founder of CHT Consulting. She has a strong interest in human resource process design, competency research, change management, and leadership development. In her career she has held senior human resource positions in both the public and private sectors including roles within the financial sector, education and central government. She specialises in Board and Leadership Development and is passionate about creating workplaces where she can help leaders to make a unique contribution to the business based on having honest and courageous conversations. She led the company to achieve Approved Centre status with the Northern Council of Further Education and has designed a Coaching Programme with Diploma status. She is level A and B qualified and is also licensed to administer Myers Briggs (MBTI), and is trained to work with Leadership AgilityTM, a 360 tool which measures a manager’s ability to lead effectively under conditions of rapid change and mounting complexity. She is also qualified to run 9 Conversations in LeadershipTM a leadership programme that acts as
a catalyst for long-term leadership development throughout the organisation. She has served on charitable boards and was Chair of a Lanarkshire based charity for 6 years. Clients have included, First Group, Scotrail, First Great Western, Barclays Bank, Zain International, The School of Government, NHS Fife, and Citizens Advice. She has also led major change projects for other consultancies in organisations which include Pfizer, Merck Sharp and Dohme, Northern Rock and various Housing Associations.
